Thank you to everyone who sponsored and attended the 3rd Annual Chippewa Valley Buddy Walk!

On Sunday, September 27, 2009,  700 walkers and 50 volunteers joined together in beautiful Irvine Park in
Chippewa Falls, WI to help promote the acceptance and inclusion of all people with Down syndrome and help celebrate their many abilities and accomplishments.  We are proud to announce that
$13,000 was raised locally this year, which will help us to achieve t he Buddy Walk's ®  three primary goals:
1). To promote acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome;
2). To raise funds locally and nationally for education, research and advocacy programs; and
3). To enhance the position of the Down syndrome community, enabling us to positively influence local and national policy and practice.

A gracious Thank You to Karen and Jacob Lemke, Coach Tim Leis & the 2009 Chippewa Falls High School football team, who helped us kick off the 3rd Annual Chippewa Valley Buddy Walk ® by giving a very heart-warming speech about Down syndrome; noting all the wonderful abilities and accomplishments of people with Down syndrome.  Another thank you goes out to Luc Anthony from Maverick Media's I-94, who sang our National Anthem and to the other 50 volunteers who helped make this year's walk a huge success!
